The End of Summer School? Things You Still Need to Know!

badge50Oh, Summer Schoolers! What a month it’s been!

If you are like us, this is a bittersweet message to get. Sweet, because we’ve accomplished so much in the last 4 weeks. Bitter, because it is the end…

Or is it?

Don’t get too perky — the daily blog lesson portion of Kidlit Summer School IS over — it has been fun, rewarding, and informative, but there are only so many hours in the day and it has been A LOT of work! But we have a couple things planned to keep the Summer School feeling going until next year’s course starts!

OPTIONAL Final Exam

What is school without finals? But don’t worry, this is (hopefully) the kind of exam our students will love. An announcement about this will be made early this week.

The Facebook Group

If you have joined our Kidlit Summer School Facebook Group, that group will continue on! All your little cliques and study groups, your lunch tables and your bus partners — you will continue to have access to that. When Summer School 2015 rolls around, we will add anyone new to the group then. We hope you will continue to hang out at the school yard and stay in touch with all your friends — and your teachers, too! If at any point, you’d like to leave (which would make us sad, but we understand <sniff>), you can do that through your own Facebook settings.
Webinars
We had so much fun doing webinars with you guys that we are planning to do more throughout the year! However, the future webinars will be conducted under the umbrella of Kidlit Writing School, where we will be offering more traditional online classes and webinars, as well as a number of free events. Please visit the site and sign up for our mailing list if you’d like to receive more information about future events.
Prizes and Giveaways
We promised you guys a number of prizes and giveaways throughout the month of Summer School, and don’t think we’ve forgotten! Please keep an eye on the blog for announcements about the prizes in the coming days. It might take us a little while to sort them all out but we certainly will!

Please especially pay attention to the last little bit you have to do to win the PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARD and the 30m TWITTER DARE PRIZES — that will be on the blog very soon!

SUMMER SCHOOL 2015

We are very excited to announce that Kidlit Summer School will continue next summer, and that this event will continue to be free! We have many exciting things to share with you already, so please check the blog for those coming very, very soon!

  29. Glad it isn’t entirely over. It gives me time to organize senior skip day. (Or do I have to wait until year four to do that?) I’m so happy I signed up for this. I’m not so sure I signed up for a final exam, though. *frantically writes notes on forearms and inside sleeves*
